Defenders of the Bay: Young Heroes Take on Villains to Save Our Waterways

Summer is heating up with the latest edition of NEW Water’s STEAM Superheroes Camp, now celebrating its ninth fantastic year of partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Green Bay. This year, the camp wasn’t just about learning – it was about battling the forces of villainy to protect and educate kids about our most valuable resource, water.

For the 8th year of the STEAM Superheroes Camp, NEW Water, the brand of the Green Bay Metropolitan Sewerage District, teamed up with the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Green Bay (BGCGB) and the Einstein Project to inspire area youth to care about our most valuable resource, water with interactive, educational, and hands-on activities.

From inspecting microorganisms under a microscope to building filters to represent the earth, area youth participated in a STEAM Superheroes Camp and have earned their “Defenders of the Bay” certificate.

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, no it’s the STEAM Superheroes! NEW Water, the brand of the Green Bay Metropolitan Sewerage District, teamed up with the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Green Bay (BGCGB) for an interactive 2021 Virtual STEAM Superheroes Camp, making this year the 6th year of educating, engaging, and inspiring area youth to care about our water. There was 31 area youth that became ‘Defenders of the Bay,’ learning important skills to help protect our precious water resources right here in Green Bay from the STEAM Superheroes “Commander CleanWater” and “Watershed Warrior.”

This week, area youth will become ‘Defenders of the Bay,’ learning important skills to help protect our precious water resources right here in Green Bay. NEW Water, the brand of the Green Bay Metropolitan Sewerage District, teamed up with the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Green Bay for the 2020 STEM Superheroes Camp, making this year the 5^th year of educating, engaging, and inspiring area youth to care about our water.
