NEW Water was on of the five organizations selected through the Great Lakes Observing System (GLOS) Coastal Monitoring RFP for funding a coastal hazard project. NEW Water will deploy three buoys in Lower Green Bay (two new and one upgraded), each equipped with wave and weather monitoring. These buoys will help fill a critical observing gab by better characterizing local wave conditions - supporting safer decisions for recreational boaters and commercial vessels.

With severe wet weather conditions in NEW Water’s service area last night and continuing into this evening, our community’s shared sanitary sewer system has been inundated with stormwater. At its peak, NEW Water’s system received about 214 million gallons per day; on average, we treat 41 million gallons per day. This is more than 5 times the average flow.
