Green infrastructure initiatives are underway at NEW Water, the brand of the Green Bay Metropolitan Sewerage District, offset in part by grant funding.

NEW Water used a $28,900 grant from the Fund for Lake Michigan to develop a Green Infrastructure Implementation Plan, identifying green initiative projects to pursue on its properties, including:

September 2025 - NEW Water was featured on Spectrum News for the Downtown Interceptors Renewal Project, a construction project in the City of Green Bay and Village of Allouez to upgrade nearly 100-year-old sewer pipes.

As part of our Facility Plan, contractors will soon begin work to upgrade the Pumping & Headworks systems at the De Pere Facility (DPF). This $24 million project will replace aging equipment used for pumping, screening, and grit removal.
