In the smallest U.S. town represented by a National Football League (NFL) team, star quarterback Jordan Love and cheese curds are always trending topics. Flushing toilets and wastewater treatment are, decidedly, not.
When the news broke that Green Bay, Wisconsin, would host the NFL draft in 2025, the team at NEW Water — the brand of the Green Bay (Wisconsin) Metropolitan Sewerage District — began working on a gameplan.
NEW Water owns and operates two wastewater facilities as well as sanitary sewer conveyance infrastructure that together serve approximately 240,000 people within a 740-km2 (285-mi2) area. Research from SportsImpacts (St. Louis) estimates that more than 360,000 people attended the 2025 NFL draft.
