On Monday, April 28, a treatment facility overflow occurred from approximately 8:35am to 8:42am. About 300 gallons of wastewater spilled onto the ground and into a stormwater outlet at the De Pere Facility of NEW Water, the brand of the Green Bay Metropolitan Sewerage District.
The spill occurred during a dewatering process on a tank which contains fats, oils, and grease removed as part of the treatment process.
The site has been cleaned and flushed with potable water. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has been notified. There has been no interruption in wastewater service.
