What happens to water after it is used? How is water recycled? Come to NEW Water for a tour of the third largest wastewater treatment plant in the state of Wisconsin! Over 1,000 people visit our facility annually.
Tours last approximately 1½ hours and include considerable walking and stairs, though accommodations can be made, with advance notice, for visitors with any special needs. Unfortunately, the tour is not wheelchair accessible. Tour length can be adjusted to fit tighter time commitments. Visitors will spend about half of their time indoors and half outdoors, so appropriate dress for the weather is recommended.
We can accommodate up to 30 people in a tour, and limit our facility tours to sixth grade and older for safety reasons. Tours should be scheduled a minimum of 2 weeks in advance, and are offered Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. (the last tour slot of the day possible, per availability and scheduling, would begin at 2:30 p.m.). There is no charge for any of our tours.
The safety and security of our visitors and our employees is of utmost concern. All visitors are expected to abide by our safety instructions and policies. NEW Water reserves the right to cancel tours at any time for the safety of our visitors.
