NEW Water partnered with Oneida Nation, Outagamie County Land Conservation Department (OCLCD), agronomists, producers, and others to establish the SHED as a soil health demonstration site with a building that houses equipment and hosts events aimed at providing soil health education for the Lower Fox and Upper Fox/Wolf Basins.
The SHED, established in 2022, serves to advance conservation education/outreach by hosting field days, workshops, and small group interactions allowing community members and producers to share their experiences and learn about soil health practices. It offers a central location to research and trial innovative cropping practices, educate and collaborate with producers and advisors, demonstrate conservation equipment and cropping practices, and store and maintain conservation equipment for area farms to use on their lands.
