Thank you to Insight on Business for featuring NEW Water’s incoming Executive Director, Nathan Qualls, P.E., in the “Get to Know” column.
For 2025, the NEW Water Commission has adopted a $53.6 million budget to ensure that critical resources are available to continue the essential service to more than 239,000 residents, as well as businesses, industries, and visitors in Northeast Wisconsin. A typical family will pay about $27 per month* for NEW Water services (*not including costs charged to them by their municipality) to enable their family to do the dishes, do laundry, and flush the toilet around the clock.
NEW Water was proud to participate in On Broadway's Fall Fest in October, with thousands of visitors learning about the importance of clean water for our community. Youngsters and the young-at-heart enjoyed our very own fun-filled “Poo Emoji Toss” game, where laughter and learning went hand in hand. While gathering valuable insights from visitors, over half of whom identified that they value reliability most about their water services, with health and sanitation closely following.
Our visitors also learned vital pollution prevention efforts they can implement at home, such as only flushing the “3Ps” (#1, #2, and toilet paper), with the emphasis on reliability and health and sanitation.

Have you ever wondered how agriculture and water quality are connected? One key solution is Agriculture Runoff Treatment Systems (ARTS). These “edge of field” practices capture runoff, help sequester nutrients, and reduce water erosion. Since 2016, several ARTS have been installed in the East River watershed, making a positive impact on local water quality. Thanks to funding from The Nature Conservancy in Wisconsin, a new video highlighting this important collaborative work! NEW Water is proud to have partnered on this effort, providing scientific data and expertise.
NEW Water held an update meeting with municipal & significant industrial partners on October 31, 2024 with topics including 2025 budget, project updates, grants for trees, the CMOM Program, and Public Service Announcements.
