NACWA Peak Performance AwardsRecognition for NEW Water from the National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA)

NEW Water has earned two Platinum Peak Performance Awards from NACWA for 100% permit compliance for 17 consecutive years at its Green Bay Facility, and for 8 consecutive years at its De Pere Facility. NEW Water will be acknowledged during a virtual Awards Ceremony on October 28.

In August, we continued our valued partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Green Bay by doing a virtual version of our annual STEM Superheroes Camp! Students watched a new video featuring the water "Superheroes" and "Villains," then participated in an on-site trash pickup at the Club. Club Teachers tied in educational materials from NEW Water to explain how picking up trash helps protect our area waters.

Goal Achiever Award for NEW Water

NEW Water has received a "Goal Achiever" Award from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for saving energy. Check out the short video produced by the DOE that highlights our Resource Recovery and Electrical Energy, or R2E2, facility.

2020 FloodingPartnering for water

Thanks to a grant from the Wisconsin Coastal Management Program, an East River Resiliency Plan will be developed to help understand complex flooding, water quality issues, and to find watershed-scale solutions; NEW Water will join partners Wisconsin Sea Grant and the Nature Conservancy on the initiative.

The last week of September marks National Estuary Week ~ and we've got one in Green Bay. Green Bay is the largest freshwater estuary in the world ~ but what is that, exactly?


Congratulations, Dr. John Katers!

NEW Water’s longtime partner in water from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, Dr. John Katers, has been awarded the prestigious Bill Boyle Educator of the Year Award by the Central States Water Environment Association. NEW Water nominated Dr. Katers for this award, and he is very deserving of the honor.

Municipal customer meeting

NEW Water held a meeting on September 10, with topics including budget, the U.S. Department of Energy award, and Facilities Plan.
