Congratulations, Wisconsin DNR, NEW Watershed Champion 2019!
NEW Water once again teamed up with the Green Bay Water Utility for its 6th annual World Water Day event on March 20. This year, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) was given the NEW Watershed Champion award for its leadership on the Fox River Cleanup Project, to reduce risk to human health and the environment due to the presence of PCBs in the Lower Fox River.
Area Businesses Lauded
NEW Water applauds area businesses, which received Significant Industrial User Awards for achieving permit compliance! Thank you, businesses, for doing your part to protect Wisconsin’s waters!
Keep It Out of the Water!
Water was proud to partner with Brown County Resource Recovery to honor National Poison Prevention Week in March. Their excellent Hazardous Material Recovery is an important service to the community, offering a convenient drop-off spot for chemicals and other hazardous materials to be properly disposed, in order to keep them out of our waterways!
Thank You for Visiting NEW Water!
Preston Cole, new Secretary of the WDNR, and WDNR staff visited NEW Water in early March to learn more about our work in the watershed, and NEW Water operations. State Representative Staush Gruszynski also visited NEW Water, to tour the facility and learn about water issues in light of his new role on a Water Quality Task Force. Thank you, Secretary Cole, and Rep. Gruszynski, for your efforts to protect our most valuable resource, water!
