# 2023 Budget

NEW Water’s Commission has passed a $48.7 million budget for 2023 to ensure that critical resources are available to continue essential work to serve more than 238,000 residents, as well as businesses, industries, and visitors in Northeast Wisconsin.

The budget represents a 7.3% increase in total expenses over the 2022 budget, and an increase in Municipal User Fees of 4.9%. Drivers for the 2023 budget include Facility Plan project implementation; supply chain product challenges and cost increases; added costs for chemicals and power needed to continue operations and achieve permit compliance.
